St. Louis Recycling fluorescent bulbs with mercury

Apparently, when you buy a fluorescent lamps to save money, you also sign up for properly recycling them when they make a popping sound and die out. You don't want mercury to leak into the ground. One of the bulb boxes says to go to www.lamprecycle.org to find a recycling center. The one nearest to St. Louis is here: http://search.earth911.com/location/3ZwA5VGZ/?what=Items+Containing+Mercury&where=63131&max_distance=25&country=US&province=MO&city=Saint+Louis®ion=Saint+Louis&latitude=38.6171262087&longitude=-90.4431068348&list_filter=all

It was suggested that the store you bought the bulb from may collect them and perhaps dump them at the recycling center for you... or maybe throw them in the trash themselves.
