Chix? I looked at the menu.. The closest thing I could find was "chicken".... No.... if you can't spell chicken.. Yes, it is a "ck" and an "en"...Or... You can look at the menu to spell it... Yes. I asked what chix were. The person said chicken. When I asked for pepercorn sauce on half [there are two halves in a foot long] she put it on both halves. When I ordered a "twelve inch blimpie best on wheat" this worker asked what size.

The boy [probably 19] that got the pipe, was in a daze and mumbling. "You could have said any price for the trade in value, and he would have agreed" kind of attitude. He did not say a complete sentence, just smiled, and wore baggy clothes. He liked petting the cat, but not in a retarded way. He was spacey. Perhaps it was culture.. How do explain the idea that all of us had the impression that he would first, be interested in the pipes over anything else, which was true, get a colorful glass one, true and woUld use it for illegal non-tobacco use... though he gave no indicators that he would use it in that way... Was his demeanor, presence, and attitude enough for carl, the old man, tc and me to all be led to believe he would use it for other purposes? Yes. But he didn't say anything to lead us to believe it. If I was on the winess stand, what should I say if I was asked if I believed
that the boy was intending to use the pipe for illegal purposes, I'd .. Well. What should I say?

Thank you for using Picture and Video Messaging by U.S. Cellular. See www.uscellular.com for info.

Talked to the boy that brought this stuff in. He has an internet connection, not dial up, and doesn't watch movies online. He rents or buys them and resells them here. Trade in value for an xbox is 15.. $30 trade in value. Karl had to test it, he knew about a circle of death. Karl then wrote on a piece of paper each title of the 30 disks that were not scrated.. Only 10 of them were ok. The trade in value was a total of $40 and the boy got a pipe.

Intent- guns, tobacco pipe, not crack pipe.. Intent for illegal purpose. Owners of store can be conspirators if they hear something, even as a joke and sell it. Entered into conspiracy. .. Funny. Well, what is preventing stores from adjusting the scales to say things weigh more while having an advertised price equal or lower to the competition? Have sealed scales that can not be adjusted. Oh, just realized that they probably have accurate digital scales at the check out and those large balances are used for estimations by the consumer. Why not have cheap, accurate digital scales with large platforms? I picked up an electronic balance that measures to the nearest ounce to 55 lbs for $22 shipped. Perhaps the scales were originally bought before cheap electronic ones were marketable. Perhaps these are just easier for people to use. You don't have to turn them on, change batteries or have them plugged in. they also can measure wet produce without messing up electronics. If the scales were sealed, employees could not calibrate them as spring scales can become less accurate
after prolonged use.

TC told me about this couple that was living together, the the girl wanted to find a different place to stay because they were having "problems". Apparently when the guy talks about something that has little or not relevance to the girl, like modifying a Nerf gun, the girl is interested in the topic because the guy is interested in it. She likes seeing him excited. However, when the girl talks about something that has no relevance to the guy, such as which mascaras are clumpy this week but weren't last week, the guy can't stay interested. I am thinking, "Yikes. What if girls really are more noble/ considerate than guys. Does that mean that girls expect guys to do the same thing?" But I never thought about it. When talking to someone, do I stop as soon as they give non-verbal signs that they aren't interested, or do I finish the story anyway? But what should you talk about? If an engineer is married to a florist, the only real things they will have to talk about that day will be the new things that happened... which will likely be the things that happened that day. But what if the engineer only has stories about dealing with a circuit that has been delayed in shipment that is slowing down the design and the florist deals with a plant that isn't cross breeding like it was thought that it could. Should both give just a short sweet summary of what happened and then... watch something on TV so they can have a common interest? Should they give the long stories to each other risking boring the other person? SHould you pretend to be interested... risking zoning out and getting caught not paying attention and thereby disrespecting the other person that listed to your story with genuine interest... because YOU were the one telling the story?

It turns out were were supposed to ddraw a picture of grace. Makes sense in hindsight because of the crayons and markers. My Marker and crayon drawing hasn't changed much since 2nd grade. Maybe we should have lessons.

The lesson was that " Justice is getting what we deserve. Mercy is getting what we deserve. Grace is getting what we do not deserve." Think about it. Jesus was given an atypical form of grace when he was given the death sentance.

Many years ago, back in the days when Windows XP was standard, I believed that portable mini computers were going to be popular. This was before netbook popularity. There were others that agreed, but it was just too early. There are mini computers that run Windows ME, but they didn't catch on. I wasn't aware of them at the time. Part of it probably had to deal with the need for a CD drive at the time. USB drives were 8MB (yes 8MB. I have one somewhere. It's probably a collector's dream), 64 MB was crazy, then the 128MB. Flash storage was expensive and not viable. The Internet was slow. Broadband was just starting to hit the market, so dial-up was still mainstream. Computers were slow, and these smaller ones were even slower. So the timing wasn't right.

I also thoguth about having everything stored online, and everyone having a computer with whatever monitor they wanted, to access all their files from anywhere. Google's cloud computing was already in the works, but I had not heard of it. I think we are a little ways away from widespread adoption because subscription fees are not desirable to online services (although upgrading to a larger hard drive is OK). Also, the Internet speeds should be faster. Waiting more than 30 seconds is too long for us. That amount of allowed waiting time will only get shorter for future generations. The local copy saved on the hard drive and update when connected is the response to that. Still, people like free. Auto backup online seems like it would be buggy.

Ok, so two things I had thought about these last few weeks included inventing a 3D video recorder. A week later, I found out that one was made already because of the success of the Avatar movie. I had saved the polarized lenses to try to make one of my own.

Another thing I thought about was having an HD mini projector for a laptop. I'm still thinking it through, but imagine a laptop without a screen, but rather a projector. A white... or even a clear... piece of material could be used as the surface it would project onto. If you wanted a smaller or larger screen, simply adjust how far away, or the focus of the lens. This would be a low cost alternative to an LED display. It would be nice simply because of the versatility in changing screen size. Another idea would be to have a projector attached to a laptop to be used a dual screen. The issue would be to create a 22" across picture with the projector on;y a few inches away and far below it. Say the unit was placed behind the screen and it projected upwards to create a projected screen above the laptop screen. But how would there be a portable stationary surface to project onto?

Well here is a pocket projector.
Here is an interesting article that shows that something doesn't have to be functional to be popular.

OK, I gotta give it up to Microsoft. Honestly, who wants to watch videos on how to do things? They take a long time to buffer and interest can be easily lost. Well Microsoft now has 7 second video demo. The buffer time is short and the videos are fun.

I stayed up until 6 a.m. looking at the Jawbone 1,2, 3/Prime and the icon versions. The icon version was really cool because of all the features the apps could give you. I looked into them. The cool ones required a monthly subscription. Sure they are only $3 a month, but still, Google voice rocks them out. I kept thinking that I should go ahead and spend up to $38 ($12 below market value, about 25% off) on these headsets for a few people I know. But right now I don't have a secure source of income. The jawbone is cool because it really reduced background noise.

I also searched and found the Windows 7 "snap" feature for Mac OSX. It's called Cinch. It's free but will show a pop up asking you to buy it for $7 when the program starts up. I haven't gotten any pop ups during use yet.

Woah, an Arnold Schwarzenegger (Doug) movie has s part where you can buy a "memory of a lifetime". How valuable is a memory? What makes it special? How much is it worth?

Oh, and a week ago I was trying to think about something I could invent and I thought about an affordable, high quality 3d video camera. But one just came out.

I'm trying to find a good video camera I can use to make near production quality videos.

I found the Cannon Rebel T2i that takes 1080p video at 24 and 30 fps.

That sounds like what I'd like. The video I watched that was made by the camera is choppy as though the frame rate is slow and choppy at times when watching in 1080p. Maybe that's just because of the uploading process done in YouTube. The 420 isn't as choppy but the words in the book can't be made out.

The Canon 550D is supposed to be the same thing as the T2i.... not sure why the name is different. I do see the flaws, but is it good enough to spend $650 on in a year (when I can get one second hand for $150 off MSRP).

I also am wondering what lens to get for it. Apparently the lens is the most important thing in a camera.

What should I video?

The axxess bluetooth headset rocks because it is just like my regular over-the-ear headphones, but slightly thicker. It is charged by a usb charger and includes an AC to usb adapter whuch probably will charge other usb things. The usb cable is not a standard size on the small end though. The plantronics is nice bc it does usb AND audio mic jacks which are easier to configure than usb or bluetooth as all programs work with them. Usb and bt setups may need to be manually adjusted in skype, audacity and gizmo for them to work. Or else when you use the programs, the computer speakers and comp mic will be activated even though you are using the headset for other programs. It's wierd. Itunes will come in through speakers and audacity will play music out of the comp speakers all at the same time

SOme movie on WE with a redhead and a guy taking a girl on a date. He was nice to her. The guy's name is Blaine. She doesn't want him to take her home. She was beating about it by saying she didn't want to go out or have him take her home. then she broke down saying she didn;t want him to take her home... because she didn't want him to see where she lived. When I first heard this I thought it was because she didn't want him stalking her. Well this is almost a paradox I had thought about when I was younger. Ok, say you are a guy that is trying to be nice but don;t have a lot of self confidence. If you suspect she will think of you as a stalker and not want you to see her house on the first date, you can be "appropriate" and expect this and say "If you don;t want me to see where you live yet, here is my cell phone, I can drop you off somewhere convenient." But if you say that, you loose posture and she gets the feeling that she should be wary of you for some reason. This is why you have to read body language and pick up on speech patterns to get a feel as to what the person means despite what they are saying.

It turns out she was probably embarrassed about the low income neighborhood she lived in and didn't want hm to judge her.
Now I am trying to find out if I can insert a Cell across different sheets where Updating one updates the other

WOW. There is a girl that is very hyper. She's probably sleep deprived and might have a little caffeine. She may have some ADD. Wow. TC sent me this video . She probably hasn't been diagnosed with ADD which is why shw is talking the same way... but hot dog!!! She has energy and randomness. Then there is a mp3 of her voice. It's oddly addicting towards the end.... . I would keep that site in mind for file hosting. I'd guess she was 15 or so.

There is also another video that is a little disturbing.. TC sent a link to me to check out if I dared. ..(OK a lot disturbing) of some women who (I'd guess were paid to take an enema and play in what comes out because of it) and then ... OK... 20 minutes afterward, the scene hits me and I start shaking by "gross/ freaky" dance (That lasts about 3 seconds). It's like 2 girls and a cup of the gross stuff. I mention it because it has got a surprisingly large amount of followers. I do mean a very large amount of followers. It's probably a nasty fettish movie. It is shown to people and their expressions are recorded. the reaction movies are apparently fun to watch.

"Body Moving" by the Beaste Boys and Fatboy Slim gives me a lot of dance energy at 12:51 a.m.

Also, today I saw some of the logo channel and watched a drag queen reality show. I was shocked at how irrational the people were. But they probably acted that way to make it "interesting" or because they were expected to.

I got some Axxess ABT-HP01: BLUETOOTH STEREO HEADPHONES, and apparently one of the last ones out. they were probably from a small comany that discontinued them. they were actually alost exactly what I would have originally ordered if I had put in a order and the people filling it took a few minor liberties. But it seems when you improve something, you get new problems. I remember thinking, "I would like a bluetooth headset that:
1. Didn't have an annoying (but kind of cool looking" behind the ear headband, or an above the head headband. But had an over the ear with a speaker and foam. Those are not supposed to cause deafness as fast as the ones that go inside the ear, (although the ones in the ear look better, my hearing is more important), The two headphones could be totally separate. but then I was thinking that having a bluetooth signal transmitting from one ear to the other probably wouldn't be good for the brain, so a cable connecting them would be the way to go... they would look like regular headphones.. or so I thought.... But these have a thincker cable connecting them, which is stronger... and good... but bad because it looks more awkward than I expected. The plastic doesn;t look too bad, but wearing headphones that are not earbuds looks awkward wherever you are. I feel awkward wearing them outside the room, but I don;t feel awkward when wearing a single ear bluetooth. The plantronics 855 stereo bluetooth kind of rocks, but it is rare and expensive.
2. It would have to be charged by both USB or AC. This has an ac unit that charges a USB cable that connects to the headphones.... awesome!!! Since USB units probably have to have a set standard on outputs, I can probably chage anything via usb with that ac adpater. Sweet! But the bluetooth connector is not a mini usb, it is an awkward shape that doesn't work with Motorola phones.I don't like that part.

"Brah" comes from the Beatle song Obla Di Obla Di. Wow. It isnt a slag African American term.

Stuff I'd like

I'd been looking at getting a nice amera for a good while now, (3 years). I liked the DSLRs because of the simplicity and quality, and now that they finally have HD video support at decent framerates, I don;t know why not to get this one... one it sells at a used price... around $500 with lens. I'd use it for picture taking and video recording.

What is an affordable HD camera with a good zoom and resolution?

Ladder Jousting Talent Show

Apparently the term "ladder jousting" was created January 30th 2010 by Josh Dunlop, the day of the auditions for the Truman Live Talent Show 2010.

The short explanation is that I was trying to think of something fun Brian Poppe and I could do as a part of an act where we could just have clean fun together on stage and hopefully do things things the audience had not seen before. I knew we could both climb dorm ladders. What could two people on ladders do that people hadn't seen before? Synchronized dancing...hmmm... or... ladder jousting!

How did we come up with that act?
That's what I would have asked.

The long story is that I invited Brian Poppe over to BNB around noon to co-create an act we could perform at the 8:15pm audition that same day. Brian is awesome. I have a cell phone video of him fitting inside a dryer even though he is over 6'3". He's a contortionist and just an overall talented individual. We looked at YouTube videos and saw a video with a guy do different dances to sound clips. So having an act for each sound clip sounded like a fun thing to do. We brainstormed a few things we could contribute.

Josh- jump roping on a unicycle (kind of), ladder, music editing, Nerf guns (Humans vs Zombie)

Brian- Contortion, poi, ladder, piercing the leg he doesn't have feeling in (freaky and amazing but probably hard for the audience to see).

How could we combine Brain fitting into a box, jump roping on a unicycle, and ladder jousting?

It made sense for Brian to pop out of a box early on in the show. I was thinking it would be the most surprising if I carried him in the box (with a few props), set him down, opened the top of the box, and had him hand me things out of the box. That way it would look like a hand is handing stuff from the box to me. But when we tried it, carrying in someone that weighs over 200 lbs in a cardboard box proved to be a little too hard. I thought about getting a backpack he could fit in, but we couldn't think of any that he could fit in. He had apparently been in a show before where he popped out of a box, then balanced on a ladder on top of the wooden box. I laughed and half jokingly said, "Once you stand up, just say, "Well it looks like I'm the stand up comic". Then just stand there and wait for the audience to get the joke.'I looked on my computer for a fun song. The "Rydell Theme Song" from Grease seemed appropriate.

I asked if Brian had any jokes that might be able to connect the things. Remembering back to the Boy Scout acts he and I both did when we were younger (in different troops), he remembered the pun use the idea of carrying a "case" and a tennis racket" and the other person asking "Where are you going with that case?" "Oh, I'm taking my case to court." Linking it to the ladder came after we took a break for a while.. Brian called and said, what if you also carry a ladder and say "I'm taking my case to a higher court". From there we were able to get one ladder on stage for the ladder jousting. As for music, I was trying to think if there were any songs that could be associated with ladders. I thought about the Mario theme song. So I rearranged that so the ladder sounding part came up as we were climbing the ladders. Then for the ladder joust part, the "Going in for the Kill" clip from the TV commercial for the video game Baynonetta sounded great. The Skream Remix was close, but the audio was still off. So I just used the audio from the YouTube version.

Next, well what else could we do? Wanting the save the unicycle for later, we decided to do the poi first. there wasn't really a transition other than Him showing me how to climb a ladder, then me showing him how to do poi. (Originally we were going to one-up each other, but it took 12 minutes. We had a limit of 7.) How could we make spinning poi fun? After running through a few ideas, Tracy, who was watching, decided that having an inexperienced person "teach" the expert was the funniest version. Thinking about how I could remove myself to let him "practice", I thought it would be a hit/miss to say something like "I'm going to check on the pyrotechnics (fire is obviously not allowed in the auditorium)." I originally thought I would go behind the changing station in the center of the stage where our props were. Then I thought I could fake stair walk down into the "basement" behind the table. The day of the performance, just walking off-stage made sense. People could see behind the table.

Since (satisfaction = expectation - deliverable), Brian intentionally wasn't set up as someone who was supposed to be good with the poi, we hoped it would make his short poi performance perceived as more exciting than if we had said something like "Brian The Magnificent will now perform the Mayori tradition of poi performance".

Originally I was going to do the poi poorly, the would do it well. Then I would use the poi as hand cuffs. then he would use them as handcuffs and dislocate his shoulder. The I would use it as a jump rope, then he would get a regular jump rope, then I would get on my unicycle and finally do something he couldn't do better than me at. But I thought it made us look too competitive, but without a great climax.

I was thinking we could have a changing booth or puppet house thing to hide the unicycle. We ended up using a table with a transformers bed sheet instead since it fit with the Transformers theme song we used.

Brian thought about

Well today I learned about YouTube.

1. To prevent failureWhen you are about to upload a video, first rename the original video file the title you want to display on YouTube before you upload it. YouTube makes titles, descriptions, and tags searchable. Do it right first because YouTube can take 3 or so days to update changes to these fields after the upload has finished. So if you don;t want to wait for people to be able to search for your video, have the title, description, and tags done and saved before the video is posted.

2. Before you upload the video, open up a Word file or something and have three sections you can quickly copy and paste.

REMEMBER: Your video will be most searchable if you have two or more distinct words that show up in the TITLE and DESCRIPTION. (TAGS would likely be a second.)

--If you want 2 or more words to be searchable together, put them in quotes and they SHOULD be more likely to come up as a match in search results when those exact words are searched for together. I don't know if they have to be in order or if they can be missing a word between them. Will "Truman University" show up before "Truman" "University" if someone searches for Truman State University?

To prevent the video from being uploaded without updated descriptions, titles and When uploading the video, copy these three segments into their spots on the upload page before the video finishes uploading. Then save! Hopefully it will get saved before the video stops being uploaded. Things that are updated after they are posted don't seem to get updated (at least within the next 7 hours) in the YouTube search bar. So re-uploading it may be the best idea if you do make a mistake and your youtube video is not found in the search bar after it has been uploaded.

However, the same video file uploaded by the same username will likely get denied (even after you wait the hour or so for it to upload) because it is too similar to an existing file.

However, you can upload the same file using a different account.
