Most road bikes have a 53 and a 42 tooth main gear according to an alpine shop bike tech. Most back wheels start at 11. Hybrid bikes may only go up to a 48 and may have the smaller 26 or maybe 27 inch tires compared to the 700c on road bikes.

April fools Norman Rockwell

I just found out that one of my grandpa's brothers and his wife drowned in 1990. He'd asked my grandpa to buy a sawmill from him so he could pay for a flat bottomed boat. My grandpa bought it and they got the boat. On a Monday, the brother didn't show up to work, which was odd because he was very reliable. Some family went to their house and saw the dogs hadn't been fed. It turned out they had gone boating when the water level was high. They didn't know how to swim, and had their life preservers on the floor off the boat. The bodies were found days apart. They had hoped after finding her body that he was on an island. The family waded in the water with long sticks and found his body underwater stuck in a submerged tree's branches.

The Peshtigo fire October 8, 1871 was worse than the Chicago fire. Fire tornado destroyed this area in an hour. Visible fires were common as railroads and immigrants cleared land. Indians also had visible fires. Winds came and started a tornado with fireballs. People survived by swimming in the river that night. Human hair caught fire quickly. No telegraph lines were there. The survivors had to walk to Marinette 7 miles away. Hills had helped Marinette survive the fire better.

We were told different things by different people about out HTC Evo 4G plan. My dad claims he got a business cell plan deal. Well the salesman mistakenly told him that the Evo came with free broadband connect on all the phones (false, it costs $29.99 per phone) but not the outdated tethering (which it does for free (I think) if you use HTC Sync or PDANet). I don't know why they charge people for the internet tethering if they cannot control it. I guess people just don't now they can without buying the plan. Some of my Pakistani friends in Minnesota were using PDANet back in 2006 and avoiding the internet tethering fees then.

Because of the misrepresentation, he talked to his supervisors and approved the Broadband connect on all the phones. When I called the general tech support and went into the Sprint Stre, tey said our plan did not have the Broadband connect feature on it, but that I could add it for $29.99 per line and they could activate it the. However I had to call the people that sold us the phones several times to get it activated since I was getting error codes.

The salesman said that the Broadband connect feature was free. It wasn't. It was an extra 29.99 a month per line. Tethering through USB was also supposed to cost an extra 19.99 per line I think. It may be poss

The Internet connection is not always reliable and may need to be reset. First try... menu-System updates-update profile. Then go to Menu-Settings- Wireless and networks and turn off and then turn on the "mobile networks" checkmark at the bottom of the page. If you get an error message, you may need to try the next step.

I get the error message (with a period in the wrong place) " Error code 67 .Registration failure. Your PCS Vision username and/or password may be incorrect. Please try again "

If that doesn't work, you may need to go to "phone" and dial ##3282#-  Edit Mode- (type in a 6 digit phone specific code)- Data Profile -menu- restore- "Your custom data profile will be erased. Do you want to continue?" (If it worked before, but isn't now,  press "OK".) Device will reboot.

--The downside to this phone is that when you are sharing an Internet connection with a computer, your connection stops as soon as you make or recieve a phone call. It will resume after the call has finished. Maybe this is to save battery life. I wonder if it can be disabled. Only one Internet connection will work at any given time. A previously existing Internet connection wil be closed if a new one is started. You can not do a USB tether and a Broadband Connect WiFi at the same time.

With PDANet and perhaps even HTC Sync('s drivers), it may be possible to get a USB or Bluetooth internet connection, and share it with other computers via WiFi. The broadband connect pretty much makes this obsolete though since the BBC is more simple to use.

If you do the HTC or PDANet route, you will have to install software on your laptop. If you wil use different laptops, have the install files on your sd card in your phone. Connect your phone as a mounted device, look in the "downloads" folder, and that is where they should be if you downloaded the install files from your phone's Internet.

Another thing is that on a Windows computer, you can download computer files to accompany some integration features with Microsoft Outlook and allow Internet sharing and stuff. http://shop.sprint.com/en/software_downloads/pda_smartphone/htc_evo.shtml

For other phones, you just go to sprint.com/downloads and click on your phone.

I looked at it and didn't see how the internet connection would work. My dad got it to work. Once you install the program, you are able to connect your phone to the computer and the "Share internet with computer option" pops up on the phone screen along with "charge only", "Mount as disk drive" type options. Then, on Windows, you have to go to network connections and you should be able to see it working. I got .71 then .79 Mb/s download and .43 then .47Mb/s upload from a St. Louis server. .87 Mb/s and .44 from Bixby, Oh. Interestingly enough, this was done on a "slow" USB 1.1 connection (old computer). The downside to this HTC Sync option is that you have to tether through a usb cable to your computer. PDANet lets you connect through UBB or bluetooth, but you have to enable PDAnet on your cell phone unlike this HTC Sync option. However, the cable probably isn't a bad option

I just downloaded PDANet from the android marketplace, downloaded the install files onto my sd card on my phone, then plugged my phone into my computer, installed the program on the computer as well, turned PDA net on my phone and opened it on my computer and got .49 MB/s download and .13Mb/s upload at 10.25 am on a Thursday morning according to speedtest.net. I ran it through my USB modem.

Using the Broadband connect had similar speeds, .50 Mb/s upload and .28 Mb/s upload. I tried it again a few minutes later with the same server and got .37 Mb/s and .03 Mb/s upload. I tried from a different erver, and for .17 Mb/s download and .20 Mb/s upload.

Simplyuniquevideo.com was used to make a funny video with celebrity clips. A local guy did the voice over I believe.

Simplyuniquevideos.com - wow. Funny slideshows!

The dad said that he used to hunt squirrels and anything else that moved except deer-he just couldn't bring himself to shoot at them. I wonder if that is because deer are too similar to humans in size and perhaps personality. They can also be trusting. It's hard to shoot a deer walking towards you the way a dog or cat does. Are plants much different?

Manly desire for freedom

I had a friend whose parents moved to a very rural place that was 45 minutes from anything. At the time I believed that was a poor and self-serving decision by her dad who got the place so he could hunt and shoot in his own backyard at the expense of huge fuel costs to get to work every day, making their kids inaccessible to friends, and damaging their vehicles on the miles of gravel roads. Well, again I came across another father that did the same thing, but not as far away and after the kids had moved out. I asked why. At first he cited that he wanted to be able to go outside and shoot and fish and not have someone telling him he can't burn brush when he wants to. He then said he really wanted freedom from regulations intended to keep people safe or undisturbed in suburba, but not in so many words. He then said that with that, he has to take security into his own hands-which is why he bought his wife a magnum pistol and has an advanced home security system. That feeling of freedom is worth the extra expense. I wonder what creates that spark of independence.

Marriage is probably one of the biggest commitments you can make...Ever. Which is intimidating. I don't even buy shoes without trying them all on, taking notes, comparing the materials and features. I wear one on each foot to compare them.

Eh says about guy girl relationships, a relationship for a girl at some point means being intimately involved. That also involves an emotional bond for many girls in a society where there is an expectation for a girl to be with one guy. Or one guy at a time to not be called a slut or whore. A smaller % of guys feel that way. In "The Graduate", the intimate relation was referred to as comprable to a handshake by the guy In terms of emotional connection. So this may be why girls like the idea of a committed relationship more than most guys. I think it is easier to be in an exclusive relationship when you feel you are with someone that cares for you and that you don't think you can do better than in terms of thinngs you think you value, be it energy, spontiaity, education, physical body, etc. And when no other girls are mutually attracted to you and the girls available to compare her to
are lesser. Call it shopping around, but it is a logical process. You want what is best for you because

What if people had to work for their electricity by physically recharging batteries? Well, people do work for their electricity, supposedly by performing a skill they specialize in for someone else to specialize in electricity at a lower cost of time to generate the electricity. But if everyone had to personally power their electric things, we'd probably be in better shape, use less electricity, wake up earlier, go to bed sooner with the sun.

Watching the 60 minutes oil spill interview on tr's android from sprint. Who would be to blame? The people that created policies that may be lacking, the lack of enforcement, the workers that refused to comply with potentially unsafe orders? Shouldn't companies have a policy where if an employee has concerns with an order for something legitimate, like safety, environmental impact [debatably], ethics, or something, they can talk to the person one level higher than the person they have the issue with without fear of loosing their income?

Thank you for using Picture and Video Messaging by U.S. Cellular. See www.uscellular.com for info.

..Better yet, understood warnings and conseqences for people that assume those risky jobs. Like, if you underestimate the risk, [by whose standards? Previous experience?] of securing the oil from a hole you drill, [man, this is hard] the employee will have their permant record marked as the cause... No that's bad because perhaps acceptable standards were met, but it still failed anyway, so a hard worker that follows the rules they are told to can be permanently punished as well as their family. If the company is held liable, blame can be absorbed into the name of the compoany, the individuals that made the mistake will not be identified, but all employees, despite their personal efforts and responsibilities, may have a negative label/ connotation and a less secure job. One kind of relevent cop out answer would be that it is the fault of consumers that demand significant quantities of
cheap gas, and fuel companies are using what they know to get that for them. Bam! Who is to blame now?!

Thank you for using Picture and Video Messaging by U.S. Cellular. See www.uscellular.com for info.

I heard on the sirrus radio in the car that people wanted to boycot BP labeled stations, but that BP oil is sold at the next station as well. Will that really help the ultimate goal of cleaning up and preventing it from happening? Not in my mind. Who is funding the clean up? To my knowledge BP. To my knowledge, they have been doing stuff like this successfully for 50 years and considered it a low risk. If they had believed an oil spill was possible, they should have calculated the cost of clean up and detriment to public image and planned accordingly. People make mistakes. Should the entire company be punished for a mistaken assessment of risk, an attemped cover up, and the result of this? Like the entire Toyota company was fined big money by Obama for the small percentage of employees that tried cutting safety measures. Is that how it should be? The fine will just have to come out of
the consumer's pocket, right? Awesome plan government... What would be acceptable repercussions

Thank you for using Picture and Video Messaging by U.S. Cellular. See www.uscellular.com for info.

Can't bp tell people, "buy our gas so we have more money to clean up the oil spill"?
A radio commercial just heard. "Bank of America Meryl Lynch: providing global execution services. Bank of America-Meryl Lynch..."
...Behavior of friends when the behavior is acceptable by other people in the industry? Also, do people that have done something one way for years be required to change practice when the rest of the company decides to standardize? Some a/c dealers seem to have their old practices grandfathered in at the expense of other departments. Some dealers don't even have an internet connection, but rely on calling a sister office to get updated information, thereby using additional human resources. Maybe it's ok and just frustrating for the people that answer the calls who don't see why they have to take their time to look up stuff for people that refuse to look it up themselves within the same company. There has to be a point where supplying and training them on a computer would be more cost effective. However, what if they personally like their job because of the personal touch? If they were
given a computer, they would loose confidence in their perception of the company as a personal experien

I don't know if it is a cultural thing, the result of being in an organization with a code of ethics that is possible to follow without harming performance [seriously, if the code of ethics is not practical to follow, people will be likely to start breaking certain codes of these voluntarry ethics. Once this happens, the enforceability is limited. What are you going to say, you broke codes 2, 4, and 6, but everyone breaks 6, so we will only discuss 2 and 4. "Yeah, most of the code of ethics, well except 6, is followed by the rest of your peers and you're making them look bad by breaking these rules that our association abides by." come on. Or what if some of the codes only apply to a small group of people, so they are easy to not break by a majority of members? Should the people whose business is complicated by following these codes be held up to them by the people who do not have to
make the same sacrifice [assuming there is one, like extra time, paperwork, reporting unethical behavio

He considered himself an honest and ethical guy, and this practice disturbed him internally. He believed the products wer good for less than 20-30% of the people they tried selling to. This was probably around 2006. Ethics classes and regulations were likely in place. The state approved this method. How do you think it made him feel about his state? His coworkers? His [former] industry? [duh] Himself after making a sale?

Financial products. He said that he felt he was cheating his grandparents out of their money. Also that his old comapany's state approved practice was an unethical bait and switch and hated it. I don't remember exactly, but I got the impression that the words, actions, and motivations of senior agents were not to do what was best for the client, but to show them the products they could make commissions on and encourage them to buy them, be happy, and recommend friends and family. I believe the percieved bait and switch was to contact elderly people asking if they could visit them at home to talk about the change in medicare policies. When they visited, they would briefly talk about the changes, then spend the rest of the time proposing their own commissionable products to suppliment the changes. He said that he hated watching the faces of people as they started to figure out the real
reason for the house call as he felt the elderly people were mislead into the purpose of the visit.

Tr was reading "first break all the rules" a book about management. One thing he cited was that both bad and the best salesmen said they disliked being told they were wrong by a customer. Avg salesmen were not affected by this. He went on to say that it may be because both bad and the best salesmen [salespeople.. Wierd... It feels wierd to change terms I am used to...Or it may be dating the information..] took these challenges personally as they wanted to make the sale [or I propose, to help the customer despite their possible arrogant ignorance], and the bad sales people couldn't handle the stress of the process. I could think motivation, belief of relevence, perception of benefit to consumer, how dependant on commission they are to pay expenses, peer sentiment, and other similar variables can play major parts in the success, stress, and conscious of these individuals. Blake, our
fisherman guide said he'd done everything before deciding on bartender and fish guide including selling...

So my motivation at this stage in life is to avoid getting into something I will possibly regret later, having many experiences with foods, drinks [I still mix up sodas to try new flavors, or if someone is buying me a beer or food, I'll pick The local one I haven't had before], travelling, electronics [why I go through so many computers and try out operating systems as well as used to buy, try/learn, then resell paintball guns], why I like to ride and drive different vehicles, use many tools, ask the extra questions to help me understand the why, how, when, and at what consequence or opportunity cost. I'm surprised at myself because right now I don't personally care for money as long as my needs are met. Maybe I'm going through an idealist phase or something sparked by the Possibilities alliance-an eco-friendly self sustaining living community. They helped others by promoting
friendship, community, showcasing a loving family, leaving the water and land better than when they started

Would I ride a Harley? Sure. At this point in my life, I value experiences. Since I do not have any dependants, without being reckless in my assessment of risk, I am not holding myself back from things with somewhat risky behavior. I went skydiving. I rode a bike I made from parts without the pieces hooking the front axle of my mountain bike to the frame as a backup system upwards of 25 mph downhill. These had acceptable levels of risk, but could be dangerous. I would also drive a motorcycle before I had dependants. I'd probably not own one though. The decisions I make now though reflect a desire to experience things before something would occur that would limit me from doing these things. I don't want to say, "I should have." I'd like to try living in Europe, to travel some. Then to take my experiences, get ideas, see some failures, avoid those, deal with new challenges and create
something worthwhile. Originally I was led to believe that business was the only practical means for this

Harley Daviodsons are supposedly self-sabotaged in their engine timing to create the "haley noise". While consumer demand is a logical way of determining what to produce from a financial standpoint, perhaps it assumes that people are rational/have community or nature in mind as well. Ok, no, but if the idea was to better the world, maybe. Like why would a consumer purchase a Harley with a badly timed engine with, assumingly poorer gas milage and therefore a producer of more emissions as well as more noise pollution, if they cared about the environment their friends and themselves lived in? Are these people selfish to the point of disturbing other people with noise and polluting the air more than necessary? Perhaps culture does not train people to seriously weigh these factors into decision making.
