The dad said that he used to hunt squirrels and anything else that moved except deer-he just couldn't bring himself to shoot at them. I wonder if that is because deer are too similar to humans in size and perhaps personality. They can also be trusting. It's hard to shoot a deer walking towards you the way a dog or cat does. Are plants much different?
