I don't know if it is a cultural thing, the result of being in an organization with a code of ethics that is possible to follow without harming performance [seriously, if the code of ethics is not practical to follow, people will be likely to start breaking certain codes of these voluntarry ethics. Once this happens, the enforceability is limited. What are you going to say, you broke codes 2, 4, and 6, but everyone breaks 6, so we will only discuss 2 and 4. "Yeah, most of the code of ethics, well except 6, is followed by the rest of your peers and you're making them look bad by breaking these rules that our association abides by." come on. Or what if some of the codes only apply to a small group of people, so they are easy to not break by a majority of members? Should the people whose business is complicated by following these codes be held up to them by the people who do not have to
make the same sacrifice [assuming there is one, like extra time, paperwork, reporting unethical behavio
