How a colorblind person can tell what color something is in a picture using Photoshop

I bought a GT Edge Aero bike a while ago. It was posted on craigslist as "Purple Road Bike." When I saw it, I couldn't tell if it was blue or purple or some odd shade. I figured I should know what color my bike was, and public polls weren't working.

1. So I took a picture of the color in dispute.
2. I opened it with photoshop (The Gimp would probably work as well)
3. I selected the disputed color with the sample tool (in multiple places to get different shades)
4. Then I looked at the Red Green and Blue concentrations of the sample.

If it is red and blue, it has to be purple/indigo. If there is no red, then it is blue (or blue green).

I found a picture online of the same bike described as "anodized indigo" on the page. It looked similar to my bike, however it had red in its color whereas my bike did not. Therefore I know my bike is blue and not indigo/purple.

Here is the anodized indigo version of the GT Edge Aero.
Notice the Red 94, Green 40, Blue 255.

Here is the (I deduct) the anodized blue version of the GT Edge Aero (due to the lack of red in the sample). Notice how my bike is Red 0, Green 9, Blue 218.
