You can kind of change the resolution on a mac using the terminal.

I was looking at screen resolutions on wikipedia to determine what resolution I'd like to have on a certain type of screen.

I also found out you can press control and scroll with your mouse to zoom in and out of a webpage.

At first I was thinking there should be more 16:9 ratio screen options for a laptop. But I wonder if the picture, while proportionate, would be distorted. 1.3 pixels showing 1 pixel of 720 video... I suppose it works. We watch things on stretched screens all the time. The 1366x768 resolution attempts to do this. This does show more info than the MacBook proportion of 1280x800. It is not a tall, but it is wider (assuming each pixel is the same size, which they are not necessarily).

Another option would be to use the mac screen default and enlarge it- the 1280x800
