Bible study

People rely on their church's tradition to explain things based on currently developed/accepted interptitations.

So even hough there are passages that reference Peter's mother-in-law, tradition and church interptitation trumps whatever perception you would normally derive from this passage; that "priests," the modern name for a church leader, could be married. Is this bad? Not necessarily.

What relevence does this have? For example, I was not raised in the tradition of saying a Hail Mary. In my parochial school, we were told reasons not to ask dead people to pray for us. If there is no suffering in heaven, then people would not be able to look down on earth and see all the pain and suffering going on. Additionally, verses like, "No one comes to the father except though me." makes it difficult for us to understand different interpritations that seem to be based on tradition and not the verses we read ourselves.

Luke 11:27-28 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crown called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you."
He replied, "Blessed rather are the those who hear the word of God and obey it."
