The exta dollar is for them to dump some guacamole sauce and switch the type of cheese. TC says it's because it is a special. That is not enough of an explanation for me. Something like, people eating here are not controlled by price elasticity within a certain range of $5. There is a price premium consumers will pay for variation, aka "a special". That would be my guess. "because it is a special" is so vauge it demonstrates a lack of deeper understanding when I hear it for a second time. Perhaps there is something implied that I am missing.
