I was flipping though the channels and came across monster truck racing on the Speed Channel. I noticed that "Built Ford Tough" is used by people as a general description of the quality of the truck. One guy even said, "We put all new things on this and it is built Ford tough, even though it is not a Ford". F-150 is the top selling pick up. Is this because of a perpetuation through media that Ford is tough through this popular phrase?
Culturally, when one driver had a problem with his truck, another competing driver was helping. I like that. I believe that media is supporting the idea that you should help one another, even if you are in competition.

Most people that I know prefer Ford over Chevy...one joke I've heard is, "Yuck! I stepped in Chevy..." haha
ReplyDeleteIn Kirksville, people like Chevys more than Fords. Fords are the truck you drive if you don;t care whether or not you get in a wreck or not because they are cheap.
